Where Should I Live? Random City Picker

Random US city, filtered by vibe.

Torn between moving somewhere warm and somewhere walkable? Draw from 78 US cities filtered by region (Northeast through Pacific), climate, and size, with each pick labeled with all three traits. It's useful for building a relocation shortlist, choosing a weekend-trip destination, or settling a "where next" debate. With no-repeats on, the picker won't show the same city twice until the filtered pool runs out.

Veelgestelde vragen

How many cities are in the pool?

78 US cities spread across six regions — Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, West, and Pacific — with a roughly even mix of small, mid-size, and large cities covering all four climate types.

What happens if my filters don't match any city?

The tool tells you no cities match that combination and asks you to loosen a filter. Some region-climate-size combinations are genuinely empty, so set one of the three menus back to Any and draw again.

Can I use this for trip planning instead of moving?

Sure. Filter to a region and size, then treat each draw as a weekend-trip candidate. The history list keeps every city you've drawn so you can compare several options side by side.

Does the pick tell me anything about the city?

Each result shows the city and state plus its region, climate, and size classification — enough to decide whether it's worth properly researching cost of living, jobs, and neighborhoods next.

Do the same big cities keep coming up?

Every city in your filtered pool has an equal chance on each draw — large cities aren't weighted higher. Turn on no-repeats and drawn cities are excluded until the whole pool has appeared.
